What is the AMSSF?
The Almire Major Smith Scholarship Fund, established in 2017 to honor Mr. Almire Smith's dedication to education and community, awards an annual scholarship to an African American student in North Carolina (Pitt County) who demonstrates a commitment to both academic excellence and community service.

OUR PROCESS
What to Expect

The application process begins by consulting with your high school counselor or advisor, who can facilitate access to the official application and help gather all required documents for applying for the scholarship.
02.
Ensure timely submission of your application according to the deadline set by the Pitt County Educational Fund (PCEF); late submissions will not be considered, and incomplete applications will be disregarded during the selection process.
03.
Once a selection is made, PCEF will notify the recipient and present them with the award.

It All Starts With the Application
AMSSF partners with the Pitt County Educational Fund each year to gather a qualified pool of applicants from the surrounding high schools. The application is available on the PCEF website and can only be submitted through them. Applications are not received directly by the AMSSF.
